The 2007-08 Emory women’s basketball team recorded its second winning campaign in the last three years, winding up with an overall record of 14-11, a four-game improvement from the previous year.

(Dec. 11) -- The Emory University juniors Erica Kaplan and Lora Turner eached totaled 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the Eagles to a 79-67 win at the University of the South Tuesday evening. The win boosted Emory's overall record to 5-3 while Sewanee fell to 4-5.

Emory shot a season-high 53.8 percent from the floor and held a 34-25 edge on the glass. LeShonda Lillard and Whitney Martin each posted 10 points with Lillard doling out four assists.

(Jan. 19) - The Emory University women’s basketball team hung tough on the road Friday evening against No. 14-ranked New York University but fell short as the Violets used a strong performance down the stretch to come away with a 75-57 decision.  The loss dropped Emory’s overall record to 7-8, 1-3 in the University Athletic Association.

(Dec. 11) - The Emory University women’s basketball team used some gritty defensive play Monday evening in posting a hard-fought 54-46 win over Agnes Scott College in a game played at the Woodruff PE Center on the Emory campus.  The win boosted Emory’s mark to 5-3.

(Dec. 9)- Tennessee Temple junior Jana Hiadlovska hit a three-point field goal with 38 seconds remaining that snapped a 76-76 tie and helped propel the Crusaders to an 81-76 win over the Emory women’s basketball Saturday afternoon.  Haidlovska’s trey spoiled an Emory comeback that saw it rally from a 21-point deficit early in the second half.  The win upped Tennessee Temple’s record to 7-9 while Emory slipped to 4-3.

Q& A with Coach Thomaskutty
(Sept. 12, 2006) -- The 2006-07 season will represent Christy Thomaskutty’s fourth year at the helm of the Emory University Women’s Basketball program.  Recently, the coach sat down and answered some questions for the www.go.emory.edu web site.

Oberschmidt led the Eagles to an eight game turn-around this season, finishing at 15-10. She averaged 11.1 points per game this season, which was a team high. She also lead the team in rebounding at 5.8 boards per game.

Receiving honorable mention honors was junior guard Beth Bergmann and freshman forward Lora Turner.
