Parking Information

FACILITIES:    The Emory University track is a 400m Eurotan Track with 8 lanes. The shot-put, hammer, and discus circles are all concrete.  The shot-put circle is located at the west end of the track.  The hammer and discus circles are located on McDonough Field, north of the Woodruff PE Center. Javelin will be contested on the track’s infield and on McDonough Field on grass runways.

SPIKES:  Spikes should be no longer than ¼” in length, and of pyramid design.  No pin spikes allowed.

ELIGIBILITY:   The meet will be conducted according to NCAA Track & Field rules.

ENTRY PROCEDURE
: Meet entries will be handled through PTEntry.com.  To register for the meets, go to the website http://www.ptgrouponline.com/entrysystem/login, and log in or register then log in. Once logged in, click on meets and select either the Emory Invitational or the Emory Asics Classic.  Enter appropriate password (available at a later date).

ENTRY DEADLINES: Registration begins two weeks prior to the registration deadlines for each meet. The entry time frames for the meets are as follows:

Emory Multi-Event & Invitational: March 2nd-March 16th at 11:59pm
Emory Asics Classic: March 9th-March 23rd at 11:59pm

ENTRY FEE:  Entries are $200.00 per team. A total of $400.00 for men’s and women’s teams. Make checks payable to Emory University Track.

ENTRY LIMITATIONS:     Because of the large number of teams anticipated in this year’s Emory Invitational 3/19-21 and Emory Classic 3/27 – 3/28 we will have to limit entries in all field events and running events 800 meters and less to THREE ATHLETES per team.  In events over 800 meters you may enter  FOUR ATHLETES per team.

UNATTACHED ATHLETES: The Emory Invitational and Emory Classic are collegiate, scored meets that will be running on a tight time schedules. Therefore, unattached athletes will be allowed to participate in these meets ONLY with the approval of Head Coach John Curtin and if there is space available in their event(s).

PERFORMANCE LISTS:   
Performance lists for each event will be posted the Thursday prior to the weekend of the competition.  Field event flight assignments will be available at that time.  Designation for a cut offs for mid-distance and distance “B Sections” will be posted on the performance lists.

MEET PACKETS: 
Meet packets should be picked up at the Officials Tent on the track infield, near the finish line.  Please pick up your packet as early as possible.  The tent will be staffed 90 minutes prior to the start of the meet.

HEATS/FLIGHTS:
All races will be run as final heats against time.  The field events will normally have 3 preliminary attempts, and 3 final attempts.  Nine athletes will advance to the finals. (In the case that field sizes become to large, we reserve the right to set minimum distance requirements after one fair throw has been recorded.)

RUNNING EVENTS: 
All running event athletes must check-in with the Clerk of the Course in the tent at the east end (steeple side) of the track

CHECK IN: at least 40 minutes before their scheduled race time.  At that time they should highlight their name on the posted performance list only if, they plan to run the event.  Those not highlighted will be scratched and heat sheets will be produced based on those pre-checked athletes only.  This eliminates empty lanes and unnecessary heats.  Athletes will again check-in 15 minutes prior to their race to receive their heat and lane assignments, as well as their hip number. No late check-ins will be granted.

IMPLEMENT WEIGH-INS:  Implements must be left, and clearly marked, at the implement certification table at the west end (shot put area) of the track at least 90 minutes prior to the start of competition.  Implements may also be left on the day prior to the competition, from 3:00-5:00 pm.  Implements passing inspection will be delivered to their venue 45 minutes prior to competition. Implements not pre-certified will not be allowed in the competition and will be held at the Officials Tent on the infield until the meet is completed.

STARTING HEIGHTS:   The starting height of the men’s and women’s high jump will be 35 centimeters lower than the Automatic NCAA Div. III Qualifying Height.  The starting height for the pole vault will be 150 cm lower than the Automatic Qualifying Height.  As per NCAA Rules, the crossbar will be raised in increments of 5 centimeters in the high jump, and increments of 15 centimeters in the pole vault.

TIMING:  LYNX System Timing will be used in all the races.

AMENITIES:   Shower facilities will be provided.  Shower supplies will not be provided.  The locker facilities will not be secured, and Emory University will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

TRAINERS:  
Beginning one hour before the start of the meet through its conclusion, trainers and training facilities will be available in a tent adjacent to the shot-put circle at the west end of the track.
Athletes that require taping should provide their own supplies.

FOOD:  
Vendors will be present during both track meets.  A variety of foods and drinks will be for sale. Cash only.  Also, food services are available on campus.  Several restaurants are within walking distance, as well as the University Dining Services at the Dobbs University Center.

MEET RESULTS:
Meet results will be posted on the bulletin boards in front of the track storage room on the west end of the stadium.  Full meet results will be posted online at www.go.emory.edu.
